Rodney
Delp is our newest Global Messnger. Rodney has been in Special Olympics
since 1989 and he participated in the Special Olympics world games of 1991
in Roller Skating. Currently he participates in Volleyball, Floor Hockey,
Bowling and Softball. Rodney also serves as the Athletes Representative and
in that capacity serves on the management team. Rodney like Sarah and
Loretta has attended seminars for Global Messengers where they learn how to
speak in public. Sarah Milanek, daughter
or Greg and Liz Milanek, of Wyomissing. Sarah is 24 years old and works at Goodwill Industries. She
enjoys playing basketball, volleyball and her favorite sport is
bowling. After being assisted by her speech coach Debbie DeMarco, Sarah gave her first speech to the Reading Elk Club on Sunday, March 24, 2002 and she did a great job! She thanked the Elks for their continued support of Special Olympics. She received a standing ovation and many fine comments from members of the Elk Club. Sarah will also be addressing the Berks County Intermediate Unit on April 18. Sarah hopes to talk to the board of directors so they will have the opportunity to see what Special Olympics can do for them! Sarah joins Loretta Stump who has been a Global Messenger for the past few years. Loretta is the daughter of Ronald and Lore Stump of Millmont. Loretta is involved in many sports including bowling, floor
hockey, roller skating, basketball, and
softball. Loretta has given many speeches on
behalf of Special Olympics and enjoys talking to people about her
