Opening Ceremonies
The opening ceremonies for the 2002 Summer Games were held inside because of the all-day rain. It didn't dampen the enthusiasm of anybody. The Penn State athletes were there to sign shirts as they traditionally do and it is great fun. This year Berks was honored to have Sarah Milanek give the Olympic Oath. Adam Taliaferro the Penn State football player who had a severe back injury, but who has fought his way back to live a normal life again was the honorary chairman of the Summer games. With much enthusiasm the 2002 Summer Games were opened.
